Exterior

{short description of image} Water heater electrical switch to OFF.
{short description of image} LP gas tank valves OFF unless running refrigerator.

{short description of image} Shore power electrical (120 VAC) cord stowed.
{short description of image} Fill fresh water tank 1/3rd full (as required).
{short description of image} Shore fresh water hose stowed.
{short description of image} Trailer door locked and handle stowed.
{short description of image} Check campsite or storage area for items on tables, clotheslines, etc.

Empty Holding Tanks

{short description of image} Irrigate both BLACK and both GRAY tanks using fresh water while connected to shore water. Use PLENTY of water. Fill BLACK to minimum of 2/3rds full; it’s CHEAP insurance!
{short description of image} Clean toilet bowl and flush copiously.
(Drive to dump station if site is without sewage)
{short description of image} Empty black then both gray tanks.
{short description of image} Thoroughly flush sewer hose with water. Store hose in red roughneck tub in the front storage compartment..
{short description of image} Treat BLACK tank with chemical agent(s) and flush toilet. Add ice cubes if available. Add chemical agent(s) to GRAY tank as required/desired.
{short description of image} Maintain about 2-4 gallons in galley, bath and toilet holding tanks
{short description of image} Turn OFF Water Pump.
{short description of image} Verify that sewer T-valves are closed and capped.

Hitching and Tow Vehicle
Never, ever back trailer without first posting a lookout with radio!

{short description of image} LUG NUTS tight, BATTERY Connected, preflight HITCH, TRAILER and TRUCK bolts and connectors.
{short description of image} Remove tripod stabilizer and stow.
{short description of image} Tow vehicle mirrors ADJUSTED.
{short description of image} Close forward basement door prior to truck backing.
{short description of image} Retract REAR STABILIZERS.
{short description of image} Make sure wheel are chocked.
{short description of image} Lower truck tailgate and back into hitching position.
{short description of image} Adjust fifth wheel height using landing gear so that the kingpin is ½ to 1 inches below the skid plate.
{short description of image} Visually inspect to insure that all 8 hitch pull pins and spring retaining pins are installed.
{short description of image} Unlock and rotate the latch free of groove in handle.
{short description of image} Check for smooth operation of handle and skid plate ramp, lubricate if necessary
{short description of image} Back truck slowly into trailer. As the trailer king pin enters the hitch the handle will push open then spring closed.
{short description of image} Put on emergency brake and visually inspect that the bottom of the pin box is resting on top of the hitch.
{short description of image} Rotate latch into groove of handle and padlock.
{short description of image} Connect the umbilical cord and breakaway switch cable.
{short description of image} Verify trailer LIGHTS.
{short description of image} Remove trailer wheel CHOCKS and stow.
{short description of image} Raise landing gear about ½ inch.
{short description of image} PULL TEST: Manually apply FW BRAKES. Observe proper Controller lights Put truck in drive and release TRUCK BRAKES. FW brakes will keep truck from moving if hitch is locked. If the FW hitch is NOT locked, the FW will fall onto the landing gear
{short description of image} Raise truck TAILGATE.
{short description of image} Fully retract LANDING GEAR.
{short description of image} Pull forward about 6 to 10 feet.
{short description of image} Pick up and stow leveling boards
{short description of image} Check campsite for any remaining gear. Leave the site cleaner than when we arrived.
{short description of image} LOCK three BASEMENT DOORS.
{short description of image} Driver verify LANDING GEAR and STABILIZERS are fully RETRACTED, and TAILGATE is UP prior to driving
{short description of image} Perform walk-around, checking tires (Trailer 65 PSI, Truck 50/80 PSI) and lug nuts, maneuvering clearance, hitch, steps and other hazards.
